Amrul or Indian Sorrel ( Oxalis corniculata , family: Oxalidaceae) is an annual or perennial creeping soft herb. Stem is hairy and slender, brown or reddish, rooting at the nodes. It is found in moist situations, near water and in shade. Other names : Amrul shak Amboli, Chukatripati, Chukatripotri & Yellow Oxalis (English). Leaves are light green, palmately 3-foliate, petiole 1-9 cm long, cuneate at the base, subsessile, glabrous. penduncles 2-9 cm long, puberulous, 1-5 flowered. Leaves taste sour. Flower is small and showy, bright yellow in color, grow on leaf axil, funnel-shaped, sepals 5, petals 5, petals .5 cm long, spathulate, apex rounded or emarginate. Flowers bloom from summer to autumn. Fruit is a capsule, 2 cm long, apex acute, linear-oblong, 5-angled, tomentose. Seeds numerous, brown. Bon tamak or Wild tobacco, Nicotiana plumbaginifolia

Bon tamak or Wild tobacco (N icotiana plumbaginifolia , family: Solanaceae) is an erect herb with branches attaining a height of 60-70 cm. There are many branches below rather than the top.  The p l ant grows here and there, specially in sugarcane, corn and sesame fields and on the village street as weed in Bangladesh. Leaves look like tobacco (nicotiana tabacum) but smaller than that. Leaves are green in color, ovate-oblong or lanceolate-oblong, 25-30 cm long, hairy, viscose. Flowers are white with light pink shade, corolla tubular, sepals 5, petals 5. Flower grows as single from lea f axil. Flower blooms round the year.  The fruits are covered with 10 permanent veins. Seeds are small, black in color, upper part wrinkled.  The hairy perennial plant is a medicinal one. Leaf, stem and seed are used in allergy, phlegm, asthma, rheumatism, worm and louse infection and eye disease.

Joggodumur , Jagdumur ( Ficus racemosa , family : Moraceae) is a  medium to large deciduous tree (15-16 m) with branches. The florets of the tree remain inside fruit or fig and cannot be seen from outside. Figs are good vegetables. The good looking plant can be easily detected by its brilliant red fruits which grow in cluster on trunks or branches. Leaves are slightly hairy, green, elliptical-ovate, 14-18 cm long, petiole 1.5-2.5 cm long. Mid-rib and veins are clearly visible. Figs are hairy also, big, 2-4 cm across. Immature fruits are light green, bright red when ripe. They are nutritious.                               Propagation of the plant is caused by seeds. The plant grows in wilderness and on fallow lands. It is found everywhere in Bangladesh. Fruits, roots, leaves and bark are used in cut wound and different tooth diseases. Its latex is used to prevent blood dripping. ...
